How does identity protection work?

How does the online cyber guarantee work?

If you purchase one of our packages that includes identity monitoring and our online cyber guarantee – and you’ve activated the identity monitoring software, and you have recognised antivirus software installed and running on your devices – you're covered. If you experience cybercrime like online fraud, ransomware or device hacking, we’ll help you recover and may reimburse eligible financial losses. To find out more about your online cyber guarantee, please read Online cyber guarantee.

What happens when I purchase a product?

When you purchase a package that includes identity monitoring and our online cyber guarantee, you will receive a welcome email that provides access to your personal dashboard. Once you provide information on your digital assets we will provide real-time monitoring and alerts.  Once your account is active, our technology will continuously scan for breaches and leaked data, and if you suffer a cyber incident, you can access our identity restitution services, legal support and psychological assistance.

What digital identity assets can be monitored?

You decide what identity assets you want us to monitor. Individuals can register up to 10 credentials, while our family packages allow you to register up to 10 credentials per person.  Examples of the type of assets we can monitor include:

  • Email addresses
  • Passport number
  • Debit and credit card information
  • Telephone and mobile numbers
  • Bank account details
  • Date of birth
  • Physical address
  • Medicare number
  • Crypto wallet
  • Gamer handles
What do I do if my identity is breached?

If you experience a cyber incident and need to restore your identity or manage a threat, you should inform the police within 24 hours and inform Digimune within 48 hours.  To inform Digimune, simply login to your Digimune account and navigate to Claims Section ("Submit guarantee claim”).  Once you provide details of the incident, including the nature of the cyber event, your personal information and any supporting documents or evidence related to the claim (such as legal or psychological impact), you then submit the claim for processing.  Make sure you record your claim number. Our experts may follow up with additional questions or documentation requests, and they will guide you through our legal support and recovery services. You need to assist with any legal proceedings to ensure your claim can be resolved appropriately.
